2017-2018 Board of Directors
Alyssa is a senior from Tallahassee, FL majoring in Human Biology. She joined USVH her freshman year as a way to become more involved with the greater community and gain exposure in a clinical setting. She has enjoyed developing close friendships with many of the veterans over the years and is looking forward to another year serving the Menlo Park veterans and expanding the program.
Director of Special Events
Komal is currently a sophomore at Stanford, majoring in Human Biology. This year, she is the director of special events, and will be organizing activities for the veterans and volunteers each quarter. Since high school, she has been working with older adults through her organization 'Relive Your Life,' bringing high school volunteers into retirement homes. Through Stanford's USVH, she is able to continue this passion working with our veterans.
Director of Finance
Maddie is a sophomore studying mechanical engineering. She loves late night baking and hanging out with her four crazy younger brothers. This will be her second year year with USVH and she is extremely excited to get to work with the leadership team as CFO.
Ankit is a junior from Albany, NY majoring in Computer Science. Ankit joined USVH last year to engage with a community of veterans who have rich experiences and face unique challenges. Outside of USVH, Ankit is a research assistant in the Beachy Lab in the Institute for Stem Cell Biology, co-director for health++, Stanford's health hackathon, and tutors for the East Palo Alto Stanford Academy (EPASA).
Ashley Watson is a senior here at Stanford, majoring in Human Biology. She is serving as the Director of Communications for USVH this year and is so excited to work with the USVH community for another year! She loves USVH because of the joy we are able to bring to the residents of Menlo Park VA and the friendships we form while doing so!
Director of Advocacy
Max Minshull, from Palos Verdes, California, is a sophomore at Stanford and is the Director of Advocacy for United Students for Veterans Health. Max has many family members who served in the Armed Forces and wants to utilize his background in History and Social Sciences to spread awareness of USVH on campus. He also enjoys surfing and motorsport!
Kelly is a senior from Birmingham, Alabama majoring in Biology. As a pre-medical student interested in neurological disease, volunteering with USVH and interacting with the veterans provides a great intersection of her interests.
David is a senior, majoring in Psychology and pursuing a medical degree. For him, USVH is about providing companionship and support for people who need it and may otherwise not receive it.
